Notes on Castro: L’Argentiera at Sunset

The summer of 2025 was the second consecutive summer of starting paintings en plein air along the sea, then working most of them further in the studio over the winter.  Many have taken longer that I imagined… but have also lead to some curious discoveries: I never would have thought to put umber in a sky at sunset.
