{"id":2353,"date":"2014-10-11T22:09:35","date_gmt":"2014-10-11T20:09:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.americanartistinrome.com\/plog\/?p=2353"},"modified":"2024-01-29T00:03:20","modified_gmt":"2024-01-28T22:03:20","slug":"the-four-techniques-for-illusion-and-volume","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.americanartistinrome.com\/plog\/2014\/10\/11\/the-four-techniques-for-illusion-and-volume\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;The Four Techniques for Illusion and Volume&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For those out there like myself interested in technical art history, you can <a href=\"http:\/\/www.getty.edu\/conservation\/publications_resources\/pdf_publications\/historical_paintings.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">download an\u00a0excellent <em>free<\/em> document in PDF<\/a> presented by the Getty Conservation Institute called Historical Painting Techniques, Materials and Studio Practice. \u00a0This was called to my attention by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lsa.umich.edu\/histart\/people\/faculty\/ci.brusaticeleste_ci.detail\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prof. Celeste Brusati at the University of Michigan<\/a>, and I thank her again for doing so.<\/p>\n<p>One of the essays is by Leslie A.
