In 1991, under the extraordinary guidance of Prof. Robert Kingsley, my figure drawing experience began.  Nearly 25 years later it remains a vital part of my routine and development.

Drawing from life is, in my mind, not only the ultimate arena for shaping and improving the analytical aspects of eye-to-hand coordination, but also sets the stage for honing the instinctual and spontaneous actions that, in effect, make the process a performance.  The economy and vitality of mark that results from life drawing interests me immensely and I am always looking for ways to carry these lessons from my drawing into my painting.
